Welcome to our first newsletter.

April and spring arrives full. We are writing from Madrid, where the city is moving - art fairs, biennales, open studios, and new exhibitions overlapping in ways that feel, for once, genuinely alive. We want to share what we've been building, what's coming, and who is in the room with us.

Daniel Hölzl — First Resident at Ventana Project

We are glad to welcome Daniel Hölzl as our first artist in residence. Daniel is working from our space in Madrid, developing a new body of work that responds directly to the city and the context around him.

On Saturday, April 18th, we invite you to an Open Studio — open to everyone. Daniel will present a site-specific installation alongside a selection of new paintings. It is an opportunity to see the work mid-process, in the space where it was made.

Daniel is also in Madrid as part of MAYRIT, the Biennial of Architecture and Design. Together with Abie Franklin, he will present AFLOAT — an installation on view at Matadero, one of the city's leading centers for contemporary art.

CAN Art Fair — Madrid Art Week

In March, we participated in our first art fair in Madrid. During Madrid Art Week, we presented work at CAN by Daniel Hölzl, Chavis Mármol, Lola Zoido, and Irving Ramo. The response was generous — good conversations, honest feedback, and a network that keeps expanding in directions we care about.

Doble Erre - Visits, Tours & New Connections

During that same period, our physical space at Doble Erre received a steady flow of visitors — collectors, curators, and figures from the Madrid art scene. We also hosted guided tours with friends of KW, a group that traveled from Berlin. The space is becoming what we hoped it would: a place where things happen between shows.

Next Exhibition:
Cosas que guardan cosas Saturday, April 26th - Doble Erre

Our next exhibition opens at the end of the month. Cosas que guardan cosas brings together 15 artists around a single, ancient form: the vessel. The show explores how vasijas — vases, containers, vessels — have shaped and continue to shape human identity, memory, and meaning. History read through form; form read through the present.

Curated by Eladio Aguilera and Aquiles Jarrín.

That's April. We are glad you're here.
